Our Governing Body
Find out about the people who oversee the general vision and management of our school. They give their time to ensure that school policies and long term vision are followed carefully to ensure that your child has the best experience that can be whilst they are with us. The governing body has a range of duties and powers and a general responsibility for the conduct of the school with a view to promoting high standards of educational achievement.

The Governing Body have responsibility for raising standards of achievement in the school. They hold senior leaders to account, seek external views of the school and use a range of information to set the strategic direction.
The Governing Body consists of two parent governors, one LA governor, one member of staff, the headteacher and ten co-opted governors. A skills audit is completed to ensure a range of expertise and experiences across the governing body.
Current members of the Governing Body are as follows:
Two parent governors: Mrs L Bell and Mr D White
LA governor: Mrs B Mitchell (Chair)
Member of staff: Mrs L Warrener
Headteacher: Mrs S Waller
Co-opted members: Mrs V Colley, Mr P Birnie
Bev Mitchell has been a governor for 9 years. She started out as a parent governor but this last year has transferred to represent the Local Authority as her children are now both at secondary school. She has been Chair of Governors for 3 years and enjoys working with the Headteacher and coming into school to see the children in action. She currently serves on the School Improvement, Personnel and Curriculum committees. You can contact her at email@example.com
Val has lived in the school catchment area for 50 years, working at Parkstone for 21 years until she retired. Her work mainly involved supporting children in small groups and she is currently using this expertise as the SEND governor. Both her children attended Parkstone and she currently has two grandsons in the school.
